Castlemitchell 5-07 Ballymore 1-08 Our B team made is three wins from three games so far in SFL Div 5 South. It was the away side burst out of the blocks and could have had the ball in the net twice within the first two minutes were it not for two superb saves from Stephen Foley. Two more goal chances followed, this time from the home side. Craig Dunphy played through Ricky Moriarty and he made no mistake as he shot low past the keeper for the first. Moriarty then played a ball across the face of the goal to Paul McDonagh who volleyed soccer style to the back of the net giving the Ballymore Keeper no chance. Seán Byrne(2) and Johnathon Fennell added points before Lee Foley cheekily chipped the keeper to give the home side their third goal. Ballymore did reply with a goal of their own as Stephen Foley again made a great save, this time from a penalty but C Dowling was on hand to score the rebounder to leave the half-time score 3-03 to 1-03. The 'Mitchells continued to pile on the pressure on the second half as the defence dominated to give them the platform with Oisín Holland Doyle and Shane Maher outstanding in the full back line. Craig Dunphy started the scoring with an unstoppable penalty. Four points followed from Lee Foley(2), Moriarty, and another from Dunphy after an good run from Lupio Cacela. Darragh Moore was to have the final say as he ran all of 40 metres through the Ballymore defence before finished to the top of the net. This is a very young side and we hope to see lots of them making the step up to our Senior team very soon. The team was Stephen Foley, Shane Maher, Dale Leonard, Oisín Holland-Doyle, Matty Quinn, Antoine Hyland, Darragh Moore, Seán Byrne, Fionn McDonald, Lee Foley, Lupio Cacela, Johnathon Fennell, Ricky Moriarty, Paul McDonagh, Craig Dunphy. Subs David Moore, Brian Byrne. Congratulations to Rose Maher who was out €2700 Jackpot winner. Our winning seller was Phyllis Fennin. Thanks to all who took part and to all our hard working sellers. |
