Castlemitchell u14's battled bravely before their visitors Ballykelly took the Feile shield semi final in Castlemitchell this morning. Castlemitchell started brightly and Eoin Wall took some fine points with some fine play into him from Conor Curtis , Eoin Farrell , Oisin Boylan and Eddie Roycroft.. However Ballkelly found the net to put them back into the match and despite some fine free taking from Bobby Joe Brennan, the visitors took a goal from a deflected free to put them ahead at the break. The young Mitchells came out fighting in the second half and showed great determination and no little skill against their bigger opponents. However despite the magnificent effort from the home side, Ballykelly took a third goal to break the home sides hearts and run out winners by 9 points in the end. The final score was 3-7 to 0-7 in favour of Ballykelly, and we wish them the very best in the final. Scorers on the day for the young Mitchells were Eoin Wall with 0-4 and Bobby Joe Brennan with 0-3. As well as those named others to play well on the day were Robert Lovett, Killian Roycroft and James Byrne. With such a young side great mention must be be made to the many young players on display who showed what a bright future this side will have, well done Corey Brennan, Jack Nolan, Fallou Sangre, Samuel Williams, Stephen Flynn, Cormac Donohue and Cathal Wall.
