Balyna 4 - 05 v 1 - 02 Castlemitchell
Our ladies made the long journey to Johnstownbridge to play Balyna in the opening game of the league. In a tight first half the hosts took a 3 point lead to the break, Castlemitchell's goal coming from the boot of Linsey Donovan.
The 2nd half started with both teams swapping points and then Castlemitchell hitting the post with a great effort from Linsey Donovan. Nicola Lawless kicked a point but then the home team scored 2 goals to finish the the game the stronger 4-5 to 1-2.
In a mighty team performance every player gave their all for the jersey especially the younger girls. Many thanks to the host team for the lovely refreshments afterwards.
