
![]() In order that all our coaches have up to date skills, Castlemitchell GFC in conjunction with Kildare GAA will provide a coaching course on 21st and 28th Feb 2019 from 7 to 9pm both nights in our indoor Astro Park. Participants have to complete a short online course before these practical sessions. Contact Fiona Foley for further details.
The next and final Safeguarding 1 course which is mandatory for all our coaches will be held in the clubhouse on Tuesday 19th Feb 2019 at 7pm. Please contact Ger Maher for further details.
![]() Congratulations to 17 of our coaches who participated in and received a certificate in the Safeguarding 1 “GAA Child Protection in Sport Awareness Workshop” last night. Castlemitchell GFC is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for all young people who wish to participate in our Gaelic Games and activities. We recommend all our coaches, players, parents/guardians and supporters read this document "Maintaining appropriate levels of behaviour in our work with children and young people" Our Last Man Standing competition is back. It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of the death of Mairead Byrne. Mairead was a member of the Castlemitchell ladies team and later went on to become club secretary, A position which she held with great distinction and with the development committee on the building of the Astro Park. Mairead was a great ambassador of the club and an absolute lady. May she rest in peace.
We offer our sympathy to the Byrne, Behan, Wall and Doyle families at this sad time. All club activity has been cancelled until further notice. Our annual members draw takes place in Pat Dunne’s Lounge on Saturday 8th December. €3000 in prizes. Tickets are €10 and available from any committee member. Music on the night.
