It's official !! Castlemitchell GFC have won the Best Overall Float in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Athy. Congratulations to all involved and the huge effort everyone put in. Many thanks to the Athy Promoters Group for ensuring the parade takes place each year and to Ger Kelly and his team who work tirelessly organising the parade and ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day. The presentation ceremony will take place in the Heritage Centre at 7.30pm on Friday eve (21st). Another trophy for the display cabinet !! Thanks to everyone who prepared our fantastic float for the parade today and a huge thank you to all who participated. It was a proud moment to see all our young and not so young members wear our club colours celebrating Castlemitchell's 75 years. Thanks to Tricia McDonagh for the photos. Click here to view photos>> Castlemitchell GFC would like all past and current players and members to be part of the Castlemitchell float in the Athy St Patricks Day parade. We will be putting the float together on Monday morning from 10.30 to 1pm if you are available to help out in Athy business park. We will be meeting for the parade from 2.30 at Athy Business park and wants as many Castlemitchell people as possible to be part of our float from 1939 to the present day. If you have been part of Castlemitchell GfC in the last 75 years then we hope to see you next Monday. We are looking to start Gaelic for Mothers and Others on A Saturday Morning at 11am while the underage training is on. Anyone interested in getting involved please contact Pauline 0861621761. Get fit and have fun while you do. Winner of the 2014 Castlemitchell gfc Operation transformation WAS Declan Harris who lost a staggering 3 stone in 8 weeks. Second was Willie Harris and leading home the Ladies was Karen Boyle. A huge thank you to all who took part and we will be continuing to weigh in eachFriday night at 7pm all welcome. Are you interested in getting involved in coaching There is a LGFA Fundamentals Coaching Course taking place in St Laurence's GAA on Saturday March 22nd from 9.45 to 4pm Course costs €20. If you or Anyone you know is interested in attending please let Damian know on 0862675974 and we will book a place on the course. We are entering the St. Patrick's Day parade in Athy again this year. If you would like to help out in any way please come to a meeting on Thursday (13th) at 9pm in the clubhouse. Well done to the U14 girls who showed great Heart and determination in Nurney today in their Feile Blitz. They came out Victourios against Kildangan Nurney in a fantastic game and put a great effort in against a very strong Division one Maynooth side. Well done on a great team effort girls. |
