Grange 0-04 Grange were the visitors to Castlemitchell for a local derby on Friday night in the SFL Division 3. Goalkeeper Michael Lawless opened the scoring for the home side with a long distance free kick before Fionn O'Rourke added a point from play moments later. Grange's Killian Deere then made a good run from wing back before laying off to Mark Brennan who split the posts with ease. Tommy Nolan followed up with a point either side of a brace from Joe Maher. Emmet Hyland pushed Castlemitchell further ahead when he showed excellent ability to land a curling point from distance whilst under severe pressure. Karol Harris and Mark Fennelly tagged on a point each before Shane Dunne finished off the first half scoring for the Ballyroe side to leave them four points adrift at the break. Castlemitchell upped the pace of the game in the second half and were rewarded one minute in when Karol Harris found John Fennelly in space in front of goal and he finished to the back of the net at the second attempt after Clynch initially made a great save. Grange now had a mountain to climb but to their credit they never gave up and made the away side work hard for every score. Dunne pointed Grange's only second half score, this time from a free from close range however it was the 'Mitchells who finished off the game's scoring. Maher scored two points from the left before youngster Killian Ward came off the bench to send over the score of the game as his side gained two valuable league points.
