U/12 Team get season underway

20/3/2012

Bank Holiday Monday saw a talented young u/12 Mitchell's team begin their season with a trip over the border
to take on a strong and skillfull Park Rathneska side.
Played in ideal conditions on a beautiful pitch the young Mitchell's were quick into their stride with a lovely move which resulted in a goal by Eddie Roycroft, this was followed up with a point by Russel Perse.
However the  home side then began to get on top and at half time they had moved ahead. Castlemitchell responded with a great move which saw Jack Howard getting a goal and midfielder Oisin Boylan added to the socre with a Goal and a point. This sprung the home side into action and they went on a bit of a scoring spree that was only stopped by stout defending by James Byrne, Dylan Roycroft and Jack Nolan in Goal. However with their backs to the wall, the young mitchell's added three further goals through Cillian Roycroft and Oisin Boylan to run out winners on a score line of 6-3 t0 5-3 . In a fine team performance the young Mitchell's lined out as follows: Jack Nolan, James Byrne, Harrison Okee, Adam O'Sullivan, Dylan Roycroft, Leanne Kelly Deveraux, Oisin Boylan, Fallou Sangre, Fuad Adisa, Ricki Nolan, Shane Fitzpatrick, Eddie Roycroft, Cillian Roycroft, Russell Perse, Ja-rell Kelly Deveraux, Jordan Hickey, Jack Howard and Stepehen Flynn.
The Club would like to thank Park Rathneska for hosting the match and also to thank them for observing the minutes silence to remember Ms Betty Kelly and Mr James Archbold whose grandchildren and great grandchild
took part in the match. The entire club send their condolences to both families at this time.

Carragh 6-5 Castlemitchell 4-11
Last Sunday a young and enthuastic U/14 team travelled to Carragh to take part in their second Feile match. This was great game of football with both sides playing their part. Castlemitchell showed the way for long periods of the match leading with the aid of the breeze by four points at half time. The second half saw Caragh launch a number of attacks that were repelled in the main by a great defence. However with last kick of the match the ball rebounded from the crossbar to a very surprised Caragh Forward who took his opportunity to level the match with the referee calling time before the kick out could be taken. The large Castlemitchell crowd were very proud of the performance of so many on the day and the way they played their football with some great passages throughout, their next match is away again to Ardclough. The u/14 team on the day was Corey brennan, Robert Lovett, Jamie Kirwin, Oisin Boylan, Alex Buttiage, Darragh Moore,Dylan Roycroft Aaron Buckley, Oisin Doyle (Captain), Conor Curtis, Tyler Perse, Bobby Joe Brennan,James Mulhall ,Dylan Brennan, Jack Nolan The team would like to send best wishes to Eoin Wall who is out injured at the moment.

Historic Day for u16 Team

7/3/2012

A historic day in Castlemitchell last Saturday as the home club hosted an u/16 team for the first time in almost 20 years. Playing a very talented Grange side Castlemitchell found their feet during the game, serving up some good passages of football against their more experienced rivals. In the end Grange were deserving winners with some great moves but all the local credit must go to the mentors of the young mitchell’s team who had 19 players togged out with some others missing.

There is great potential in this team and we look forward to their continued development within our club, best for Castlemitchell on the day were Andrew McConville, Calvin Cullen, Dominic Kelly, Dale Leonard ,Aaron Leonard, Sean Clare and Killian Ward.
