Our under 10s team were unlucky against a stronger Sarsfield team last night.Sarsfield started brighter but Castlemitchell went into the lead and went in at half time winning with a score line of 5 points to 4. Sarfields came out in the second half and put up some quick scores but Castlemitchell never gave up and the final result was Sarsfields 0-14 Castlemitchell 1-7 .Next weeks game is against St Laurences in St Laurences. Barrow Gaels u14 win league Final

In a pulsating game of football on Saturday morning last in the County grounds , Newbridge , Barrow Gaels u14's ensured the first title for the amalgamation with a two point victory over a very good Raheens team.
This was a terrific performance by these u14's , under tremendous pressure from a more physical team they never gave up. It was this never say die attitude that saw the team take a great team goal with just minutes to go to take the lead for the first time and delight their supporters . Great scenes greeted the final whistle as joint captain Dylan Roycroft took to the steps with his team to collect a well deserved cup.
The Castlemitchell lads on this team played some great football throughout the league and once again in the final proved how far they have come as footballers , playing to the final whistle .The Castlemitchell lads talking part in this final on a proud day for the club were Jack Nolan, Fallou Sangre, Oisin Boylan, Dylan Roycroft , Cillian Roycroft, Stephen Flynn, Fuad Adisa , Samuel Williams, Jamie Griffin,Bobby Joe Brennan ,Eddie Roycroft,Larry Adisa,Jordan Hickey , Cormac Donohue and Cathal Wall

On Tuesday Castlemitchell's under 10s team defeated Athy in Castlemitchell on a scoreline off 2-12 to 1-2. Athy started brighter putting up 2 early points but this determined Castlemitchell team fought back and defended with great purpose and started to put points on the board .At half time it was Castlemitchell 0-4 Athy 1-2. Castlemitchell came out in the second half and scored 2-8 unanswered to finish the game on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-2 .Daragh Ashton pulled off two great saves and with all outfield players playing well it was a great start to the league. Castlemitchell u13's will play in Division 1 of the Kildare Southboard league - training tonight Tuesday 1st July from 7 to 8 in our field and again on Friday Night , matches start this Sunday. Looking forward to seeing all our players out - new players welcome.
