Castlemitchell u11s defeated St Laurences today in Castlemitchell on a scoreline of 3-10 to 2-09.

This was a great open game of football that kept going till the final whistle. The scoreline was level at 1-04 each at halftime and Castlemitchell finished stronger with 2 late points to win. Castlemitchell under 9s started with a win against Kilcullen in Castlemitchell last night. It was a great game with quick movement off the ball from each end of the field to the other with great point scoring. It finished on a scoreline of 18 scores to Castlemitchell to 8 for Kilcullen. Our under 11s team were unlucky tonight as they started there league in Celbridge  against Celbridge 2. This very young team started brightly and defended strongly against a bigger stronger Celbridge team. We went into the second half leading after putting up some very good points on the scoreboard keeping Celbridge to limited scores on the counter attack. Celbrige got some early scores in the second half  but Castlemitchell fought back and were unlucky to lose on the night. Our under 9s team had a great practice game in Ballylinan as we get ready for the start of the league in two weeks time. On a damp wet night Castlemitchell got going quickly and moved into the lead with Ballylinan getting some fine scores near the end of the first half. As the rain got worse Castlemitchell got better and finished the game off with some beautiful scores as the moved the ball from the backs to the forwards in fine style. Castlemitchell finished off there group game tonight in Castlemitchell with a fine win over Eadestown. Eadestown  with the wind in there favour started brightly but came against some fine defending by Castlemitchell . The score at the half time was Castlemitchell  12 points to Eadestown  6points. Castlemitchell  started the second half brightly and got some quick scores before Eadestown came back and put up some good scores. The game finished on a result of  Castlemitchell 30 points to Eadestown 11 points. Thanks to Eadestown for a good sporting game and best of luck in the next group stages.
