Our under8s team continued their unbeaten run with a win against a gallant Castledermot in Castledermot . On a windy saturday morning they ran out winnners on a scoreline of 30 scores to 9. With some great point scoring and brave defending against the breeze in the first two quarters they went in at half time leading and continued to pull ahead with more scores.Team on the day was J Dooley,J Mc Cabe,O Fennin,O Flynn,R Harris ,L O Neil,M Kelly,J Corcoran,A Doyle and E Doogue. We have a blitz against Ballykelly tomorrow evening Tuesday at 6.15 for girls 10 and below at home in
Castlemitchell this will hopefully provide matches for U6, U8 and U10 Girls. Then on Wednesday evening our U12 girls are at home to Ellistown at 7pm Next Saturday at 11am at home we will be holding as part of the Gaelic for Girls Timahoe from Laois this will be a blitz for our u13s down to u6s. We have had a great start with the U12's playing excellent football in all their games to date and proving too strong for their opponents. In an excellent performance, in Naas, on a fine Sunday Morning last , The young Mitchells recorded their 5th straight win in the U14 league. Starting as they meant to go on , the green and white displayed some great power with fine fast football resulting in some excellent scores. In fairness the home side tried to get back into the match with fine scores themselves , but the Mitchells defence limited them to only the rare chance. The second half saw Castlemitchell take the initiative again and run out winners in a performance to delight their coach and the large travelling support . This team continue to impress all who see them and we wish them well in the rest of the league, Thanks to Naas for the match and the best of luck to them in the rest of the campaign. On a beautiful night for football , Castlemitchell u14's recorded another fine victory against a very good Suncroft side. This was a great game of football which entertained the large crowd present , the young Mitchells wining on a score line of 2-11 to 3-7. On a warm tuesday evening we travelled to Eadestown with a team that included Adam Fanning in goals , a tight back four of Kyle Sheehan,Conor Lamon, Eamon Lawless, Mark Kelly excellent midfield in Ross Harris, James Harris and the hardworking forward line that defended and attacked in top scorer Andrew Doyle, Daragh Ashton, Siheed Adise and the free kick specialist in James Corcoran. Also well done to Robbie Roycroft on his first night who came on and defended well. Great performace on the night and also well done to Eadestown for a fine sporting game. Well done lads keep up the fine workrate and team spirit , it was a joy to see .
