Castlemitchell under 11s defeated Grange tonight in a very entertaining game. On a windy night in Castlemitchell with the wind behind them went in at half time leading 1-5 to 0-3. In the second half Grange pulled back some scores but Castlemitchell kept fighting back and moved the ball very well to the forwards to keep their lead.Final score on the night was Castlemitchell 1-11 Grange 1-7. Castlemitchell  under 9s  defeated Athy in Athy tonight on a score of 14 scores to 8. It was a tough hard fought game throughout with both sides not wanting to give way to one another .There  was great  from both sides with Castlemitchell getting on the score first and not looking back. It was end to end football that when one side scored the other team rallied back to score. Well done to both teams for a good display of football. On a windy Sunday morning in Castlemitchell , the home side completed a fine win over a good Naas team on a final score line of 4-15 to 1-11. This was a very entertaining game of football . The green and white had the advantage of the wind in the first half and with some good points held a 5 point lead going into the closing stages of the first half but a late Naas goal and point put just the minimum between the teams at the break on a score line of 10 points to 1-6. Naas took advantage of the wind early in the second half to draw the game but it was at this stage that the Young Mitchell's kicked on playing some great passing football and finding some great goals and points. They battled hard against a strong team and showed some great team play in recording a fine victory. It was an open closely fought game throughout with good scores from both sides. Castlemitchell under 9s started division 1 with a great performance against Raheens in Castlemitchell last night. They started strong from the start and took the lead which they  never gave up.
