In difficult conditions last Sunday morning in Castlemitchell, the home side showed great character and determination to come from 11 points down , to eventually win by 5 points against a very good Castledermot side. Castledermot started very brightly and took the game to the Young Mitchell's, they quickly raced into a big lead before Castlemitchell began to take control.

As the second half wore on, the Mitchell's began to play great football and in a very exciting half, they ran out deserved winners by 5 points.

The Mitchells team on the day was Cian Byrne, Kyle Byrne, Jack Nolan, Eamon Kelly, Chris Chanders, Fallou Sangre, Stephen Flynn, Cillian Roycroft (Capt.) Larry Adisa, Jordan Hickey, Jamie Griffin , Ja Kelly Devereux, Cathal Wall, Eddie Roycroft, Adam Fanning and Stephen Nolan.

Castlemitchell 3-07

Castlemitchell made the long trip to St. Kevins on Sunday Morning to play in what was their first stand alone minor team in 15 years.
The Mitchells, fielding a young side, played some great football throughout. Some great scores from players like Dylan Brennan, Conor Curtis, Joe Brennan, Darragh Moore and Robert Lovett as well as some excellent performances from Corey Brennan in goals, Oisín Boylan, Oisín Holland Doyle, Dale Leonard, Aaron Buckley and Captain David Moore.
The scoreline didn't go our way in the end but the lads effort and commitment from start to finish could only be commended.

We will welcome Grange to Castlemitchell next Sunday morning at 11:45.

Registration and Underage training will be Saturday the 14th of Feb from 11am to 1pm. If your child wants to play football in a fun and friendly safe environment then come along and Register on Saturday at Castlemitchell clubhouse.
