Castlemitchell 3-7 Monasterevin 2-5
On a bitterly cold morning in Monasterevin on Sunday 24th March, the young Mitchells recorded a fine win over the home side to book their place in the semi final of the Feile shield. The home side had the advantage of the wind in the first half and put up some fine scores to race into a 5 point half time lead. This was despite some good moves from the Mitchells with just the last ball not finding it's target, however the second half saw the Mitchells get into gear with Oisin Boylan taking the scoring stakes with a fine hatrick. The green and whites tacked on some fine points with Bobby Joe Brennan taking 4 and Eddie Roycroft Samuel Williams and substitute Ja-rell Deveraux Kelly all taking 1 point. In the end the Young Mitchells ran out deserving winners putting some fine moves together, they now await the draw for their semi final opponents which takes place on Monday next. As well as the excellent play of those mentioned , others to play well for the Mitchells were Robert Lovett, Conor Curtis, Cillian Roycroft, Eoin Farrell , James Byrne and Fallou Sangre. The Mitchells team on the day was Corey Brennan, Fallou Sangre, Robert Lovett, Jack Nolan, James Byrne, Conor Curtis, Cillian Roycroft, Fuad Adisa, Samuel Williams, Bobby Joe Brennan, Oisin Boylan , Dylan Roycroft, Eoin Farrell, Eddie Roycroft, Cormac Donohoe, Stephen Flynn, Ja-rell Deveraux , Dylan Bambrick and Morgan Brennan. In a entertaining game played in Grange on Saturday, Castlemitchell gave the home side too much of a first half advantage and could not bridge the lead that the home side had built up. Grange were quick into their stride with a goal after 3 minutes. They followed this up with three points before the Mitchells opened their account in the 10th minute with a point by Dominic Kelly. However Grange went on to add two further goals and five points to just a 16th minute Darragh Moore point and a 22nd minute Bobby Joe Brennan point to give Grange a commanding half time lead.
The second half saw a better response from the Mitchells , indeed they were to out score their opponents by Three points in a spirited fight back. Darragh Moore added to his account with a goal after 7 minutes and this was followed up with a point by substitute Oisin Boylan before Dominic Kelly finished the scoring with a fine team goal in the 30th minute of the second half. In all Grange well deserved their victory but there was plenty for the Mitchell management to like especially in the second half. As well as the fore mentioned there were fine performances by Shane Maher , Dylan Brennan and Aaron Leonard. The final score was Grange 3-12 Castlemitchell 2-4 . U12 training in the field tomorrow night from 6.30 to 7.30pm, league starts first week April.

On a beautiful morning in Castlemitchell a very young Castlemitchell u14 team lost out to a much bigger and indeed talented St Edwards combination side. Edwards were fast into their stride and had the young Mitchells on the back foot early. The took some fine scores but our lads dug deep to record some fine play of their own but as referee Darroch Mulhall blew the half time whistle there were 6 points between the teams. The second half saw the Mitchells put some good moves together but Edwards took some fine goals to move away. As time ticked on Castlemitchell took a fine goal with Eoin Farrell finding the net after some great team play. In the end Edwards had plenty to spare over the home side but there was plenty to like in how the young Mitchells kept going right to the end , getting stuck in to their larger opponents , looking for team mates when in possession and never giving up , right up to the final whistle. Scorers on the day were Eoin Farrell 1-1with Eddie Roycroft, Oisin Boylan, Robert Lovett and Dylan Roycroft each contributing a point, others to play well on the day were Corey Brennan, Fallou Sangre, Ricki Nolan, James Byrne, Eoin Wall, Morgan Brennan, Jack Nolan, Bobby Joe Brennan and Cathal Wall.
In a fine game of football , the young Mitchells u16 team opened their league campaign with a three point win over a talented Roberstown side. Darragh Moore was top scorer for the Mitchells with an impressive return of 3-2. He was ably assisted in the scoring stakes by Oisin Holland Doyle, Bobby Joe Brennan and Eoin Wall who all chipped in with two points each. The first half was a tight affair with both defences on top but Moores goals opened a gap for the home side that they were never to loose. The second half was a more open affair with Castlemitchell playing the early ball into their forwards which was rewarded with some fine scores. A late rally by Roberstown was held off by the Mitchells defence where Corey Brennan in Goal, Dylan Brennan at full back and David Moore played well. In all a fine start to the league for the Mitchell's , this win was well deserved and with some players on the way back , the panel is sure to be strengthened. Well done to all and the best of luck to Roberstown for the remainder of the season.
Our registration day is this Saturday from 11am on our field. Teams from the age of 4 for girls and boys, come along , enjoy!
