Castlemitchell Underage AGM was held on Friday the 9th of January there was a very good attendance with all areas of the club well represented outgoing Chairman Mark Wall gave a report on the year , the main points raised were ·
Best wishes to James Mulhall, currently in hospital & due for an operation.
Most successful underage year to date with 2 girls & 2 boys trophies,
Thanks to all underage coaches who were out with kids year round in all weather, thanks also to
parents who drive kids about the county to training, matches blitzes etc.
Although Cul Camp numbers were low in 2014, County board are keen to run again in 2015.
Castlemitchell’s summer camp numbers were strong again this year with around 99 kids attending.
Chairman noted success of football in Churchtown National School, thanks to coaching from Brian
Byrne & David Fennin and all other volunteers that helped during the year.
Thanks was given for support received from main committee, specifically noted was support from
Chairman Tom Kelly & Treasurer Micheál Kelly who never refused & was always willing to listen
to any request for funds.
Help Needed across all age Groups for 2015 as existing volunteers at stretching point and its
encouraging that some ex-players have recently expressed interest in coaching underage kids.

U6 Great successes earlier in year under Brian Byrne with U6s winning
majority of matches continued by Fiona Foley & Damian in running indoor
training sessions up to Christmas in Athy Community College & recruiting
extra numbers

U8s won all but one/two of matches this season, including friendlies & blitzes.
Grouped for Go-Games against Rheban, Nurney, & Kildangan,

U9 1st phase topped div2, in 2nd phase topped Div1
U101st phase in div 2, 2nd phase moved up to div 1
U11 1st phase All-county against some bigger clubs had mixed successes, 2nd phase in Div 4 fared a lot better

U12s reached but were beaten in League Semi-Final
U13’s won county League Final

Wins for both U13 & Minor girls in their respective leagues and also reached a final at u16 and a semi final at u15
The U8 to U12 Girls teams faired very well in all the GO Games competitions that they participated in.

II. 75 year celebration day 5th July
· Underage Blitz held for 75yr celebration day.
III. Medal Presentation on 13th December 4-6pm in Athy Rugby Club
· Medals presented to all boys’ & girls’ juvenile age groups by county player Niall Kelly with Disco,
refreshments & snacks afterwards.
· Attended by county board Chairman Ger Donnelly

· Also it was noted that main underage expenses were incurred over Summer Camp & Medal
Presentation, which will be detailed in the club treasurer’s reports of Main Committee AGM
Club Chairman Tom Kelly thanked all those who gave of their time freely to do such a great job in coaching, mentoring and supporting the underage of the club and bringing such success to the club was not an easy job.
He thanked all the young players for participating in such a sporting and competitive manner in all competitions and he forecasted an even better year in 2015.

Open Registration Day Annual underage open registration day suggested for Saturday14th Feb.
Kick-off coaching meeting to be arranged 2w ahead of Open Registration day, say last
week in January.
Coaches need to do stock-take of jerseys & gear ahead of season starting.
Fiona Foley to review start date for U6.s
Some parents have expressed interest to Fiona in helping out, not necessarily at coaching.
Micheál Kelly & Darren Doogue indicated that kids will be getting eager for football to
start again soon.
Pitch Coordinator role or a Pitch Calendar (per Bord na nOg/Southboard schedule) required
accessible centrally to all, say on website so that clashing of fixtures/training does not occur as
previously.
Uniform Home & away Jerseys without numbers was proposed, as kids wearing a number of
different types of jersey, both numbered & not in varying styles,
