Under 8s defeat Athy in Castlemitchell

Our under 8s team defeated Athy in a thrilling game in Castlemitchell on tuesday evening. Athy started brightly in the first half with a good wind behind them and went into the lead at half time on a scoreline of 5 scores to 2. Castlemitchell started the second half with some quick scoring and moved into the lead and never looked back. Our defenders were magnificent to keep Athy from scoring more and midfield pushed forward to help the forward line to put up the scores to win. The game finished on a scoreline of 9 scores to 6. Well done to both teams for an exciting game and thanks to Killian Ward for refereeing on the night.
