The new stand provided great shelter against the elements as the ladies took centre stage on the main pitch in a fine game against Castledermot. There were some great action on show by both sides as the skills of Ladies football was the definite winner on the night. Well done to Castledermot on their performance and to our own young Mitchell ladies who performed so well on the night ensuring a bright future for the Ladies teams within the club.
Over on the second pitch the lads were putting on a fine display of football against a fine Moorefield team. The young Mitchells took control early and were 8 points up in the first ten minutes. They continued to build on that score and when the referee blew his whistle for half time, the green and whites were ahead on a score line of 4-5 to 0-2. The second half was a tighter affair , Moorefield getting an early goal to give them hope but the home side using their bench , settled into the match again and took some fine scores. Moorefield continued to attack but at the final whistle it was another good night for the club with a comprehensive win on a scoreline of 7-8 to 2-3.
